Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT)
Introduction of Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT):
1. Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT), sometimes known as butylhydroxytoluene, is a lipophilic organic compound.
2. BHT is mainly used as an antioxidant food additive, without affecting the food color, flavor.
3. BHT, one of the best food antioxidants, has been widely used in cosmestics, pharmaceuticals, jet fuels, rubber....
4. With a strong antioxidant effect(5 ~ 7 times better than that of BHA, BHT, PG), it is ideal for use in animal and plant fat and fat-rich foods, especially for salad oil, blend oil and cooking oil.
5. Butylated hydroxytoluene can effectively slow down the oil oxidation and improve the stability of food products, thus significantly extending the shelf life of grease and fat-rich food.
6. It is also resistant to high temperature(up to 230 ℃), applicable to instant noodles, cakes and other fried foods.
7. Besides, BHT can effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria and mold.
